Are you aware that the USEPA just issued new guidance on the SPCC regulations that changes just about every aspect of compliance, including the timing? Take this course to find out what you need to know.
This course will help you design an effective SPCC plan, be able to report releases in timely manner, and learn how to use your spill plan to prevent releases.
In December 2005, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency issued proposals for major changes to the SPCC program, including a change in compliance dates. Several Federal Register revisions have been adopted since that time. More updates were issued on December 5, 2008, effective January 14, 2010. Remember: though the deadline for final compliance is delayed, every facility in operation must be in compliance with the 2002 requirements as amended.
Even though the regulated community has been given more time, the deadlines now require total compliance at the same time that amended plans are developed. That means everything at your facility has to be in compliance when you amend your plan.
It is critical that facilities stay on top of the latest developments to avoid the risk of severe penalties.
"The deadline is now less than one year away. All SPCC plans must be upgraded for compliance with the August 2002 standards by November 10, 2010. In addition, all upgrades to your facility must be completed and the SPCC plan must be fully implemented by that same date. So time is running out!!
