Course Description
Reactive Chemicals Contribute to Many Recent Incidents
As current events continue to illustrate, many significant process accidents (often involving explosions or fires) commonly involve the misidentification or mishandling of chemical reactivity hazards. Visit the U.S. Chemical and Hazard Investigation Board’s site to learn more about recent reactive chemical incidents.
Practical Tool to Control Reactive Chemical Hazards
This 2½-day course offers practical tools to help attendees identify, evaluate, and control such hazards in order to prevent or mitigate their potential effects on surrounding facilities, equipment, and personnel. Students will also gain awareness of when and where to seek additional assistance.
Who Should Attend
This course is relevant to all personnel involved in facility design, operations, hazard analysis, and incident investigation. The course also addresses the needs of facilities where chemical reactions are not planned but where, nonetheless, chemical reactivity hazards exist (e.g, warehousing or blending operations).
