Course Description
A key function of managing security risks and ensuring regulatory compliance is to inspect your physical security systems to make certain that your procedures are practical and current, your technologies and hardware are operating properly, and that your security manpower and employees understand their security roles and responsibilities. Your policies, procedures, plans, logbooks, training activities, technologies, hardware, and manpower must be inspected and evaluated holistically.
The Physical Security Inspections provides you the knowledge and tools to assess security system performance, compliance status, and assists you in optimizing your return on security investment.
This workshop provides you with a roadmap for not only conducting your physical security system inspections, but interpreting the results. You'll leave this workshop with important checklists, questions sets, report formats, and other useful knowledge and information to help protect your facility.
You will learn how to:
- Conduct effective physical security inspections
- Create or improve your security inspection plan
- Assemble and train your audit team
- Assess your facility for security vulnerabilities
- Identify security gaps that may not be obvious
- Best document, analyze, and communicate your inspection results
- Tell the difference between "performance" and "compliance"
A Homeland Defense Journal 'Certificate of Completion' will be provided to all attendees upon conclusion of the workshop. Who Should Attend:
- Federal, state and local security officers with security responsibility
- U.S. civil agencies, government building/facilities managers, and companies with critical infrastructure to be protected
